En marzo de este año, el Ministerio Público puso en marcha la Operación Kalamar, que condujo al arresto de varios ex altos funcionarios de la administración del ex presidente Danilo Medina.
La tarde de este jueves, el Segundo Juzgado Parroquial de la Jurisdicción Nacional levantó la orden de arresto domiciliario contra Gonzalo Castillo por el caso Calamar.
Según el abogado del excandidato presidencial, Luis Rivas, el tribunal acogió parcialmente su recurso de revisión de las medidas de coerción y ordenó el levantamiento del arresto domiciliario, que pesaba sobre su cliente. Sin embargo, se mantendrán la prohibición de salir del país y las garantías económicas.
La decisión del tribunal se leerá íntegramente el 11 de enero.
Esta tarde voy a ver a mi madre, que ha sido liberada de su arresto domiciliario.
Esto es un regalo para nuestra familia”, dijo el ex ministro Castillo al salir del Segundo Juzgado de la Jurisdicción Nacional.
Castillo dijo estar satisfecho con las medidas tomadas en su contra y confió en que la justicia siempre prevalecerá.
‘Feliz Navidad y próspero Año Nuevo a todos ustedes, ciudadanos dominicanos, y un fuerte abrazo por sus muestras de cariño’, expresó Castillo Gonzalo.
El caso Karamá
En marzo de este año, el Ministerio Público lanzó la Operación Kalamar, que resultó en 40 allanamientos en varias ciudades y el arresto de varios ex funcionarios de la administración del ex presidente Danilo Medina.
En un documento solicitando los allanamientos, la Fiscalía afirma que Gonzalo Castillo recibió un total de R$ 3.957.000.000,00 del acusado Manuel Emilio Jiménez (conocido como Mimilo) como fondos de campaña política para las elecciones presidenciales.
Según los documentos, este dinero fue recibido por Gonzalo en una bolsa de viaje o maleta.
En el caso también están acusados el ex ministro de Hacienda, Donald Guerrero, y el ministro de la Presidencia, José Ramón Peralta, ambos en prisión preventiva en la cárcel de Najayo. Ambos se encuentran en prisión preventiva.
Gonzalo es Daniel Omar Camaño, ex Director de la Contraloría y Auditoría General de la República; Luis Miguel Pichirillo, ex Director del Consejo Estatal del Azúcar (CEA); Claudio Silva Peña, ex Director del Registro Nacional; Angel Lockward, economista; y Oscar Charas Guerrero, ex Director de Casinos y Juegos de Azar, Julián Omar Fernández, junto con el ex Director General de Casino y Juego, están acusados.
También Roberto Santiago Moquete, Agustín Mejía Avila, Emir Fernández de Paola, Martial Reyes, Alejandro Constanzo, Yahaira Brito Encarnación, Ana Linda Fernández y Aldo Antonio Gervasi, Ramón David Hernández, Víctor Matías Encarnación y Rafael Parmenio Rodríguez Encarnación.
